1 - I dress like a fairly average high school boy, because I get a lot of hand-me-down clothes from my brother-in-law.
2 - I seem to often fall into jobs where I have a lot of free time to do whatever I want.
3 - Related to this, I seem to be able to will things with my mind, but only if I don’t do it consciously and make little effort to achieve the things I’m thinking about…
4 - I was resistant to facebook for a long time, in part because I just didn’t get it, and in part because I did not want to create an account and then not do anything with it… That seems like teasing…
5 - I eat A LOT of bean & rice burritos from the Taco Stand, because there are locations within walking distance of both my home and my office.
6 - I’m still getting over the fact that I have an office, and a computer & monitor that are far nicer than the ones at my house.
7 - I generally over-season the food I prepare…
8 - I no longer crave coffee in the mornings, and usually don’t drink any until around noon.
9 - On average, each day I smoke one hand-rolled cigarette with a very specific and somewhat hard to find tobacco.
10 - Seeing the way my daughter Penny acts reminds me of how incredibly shy and socially awkward I was as a child.
11 - I credit, perhaps falsely, a few intense and mind-altering experiences with helping me overcome no. 10.
12 - I really do have a large place in my heart for Kalamazoo, and am fairly certain I will move back some day, although it’s just not the place for us at the moment…
13 - Some people say they listen to all types of music. I really think that is more true for me than it is for most people.
14 - I was really into rap music when I lived in Athens when I was in 5th grade, and now upon moving back, I’m getting really into it again…
15 - I am mainly in my Ph.D. program so I can take a bunch of classes in a bunch of different subject areas; I didn’t really even know what I was going to be studying until I started.
16 - I would really like to start buying more records again, but I am trying to de-clutter my life as it is, and that wouldn’t help things…
17 - I’m incredibly conflicted about playing music with people; I get really weird and picky about it. Therefore, I’m not sure how I’m going to play in a band in this music-filled city…
18 - Although I don’t think about it enough because kids & school & work take away from my brain, it is still true that I couldn’t imagine being married to anyone else in the world.
19 - The courtship of Lisa was extra-magical: most courtships are somewhat magical, but this one ranks up there with no. 11 as far as importance goes…
20 - I like a really neat and organized desk, yet a really cluttered and decorated office…
21 - Academic work has always come incredibly naturally to me; I believe having a professor for a father taught me to think in that specific, academic way…
22 - The fact that no. 21 works to my advantage in school seems unfair to those other very smart people who happen not to be able to think like schools wants them to, and therefore are discouraged from taking advantage of a great place to really learn some neat stuff. (I guess this isn’t about me so much, but it explains more about why I ended up in no.15).
23 - I find co-workers who complain about their jobs incredibly annoying, and therefore in past jobs I’ve often come off as a pretty quiet person, as I don’t partake in the ritual complaining.
24 - I really enjoy entertaining others, both in the sense of having people over, and in the sense of not being afraid to speak or perform in front of large groups of people.
25 - I’m kind of shocked I went through the trouble of doing this, and honestly don’t expect that anyone I tag would do it either, although if you have the time, it really is a fairly interesting activity…
