Traveling, we just kept going. How is it? Like, not to be epic about things, but much like Odysseus or even just Mario, things kept happening, one after another. No set pattern or schedule or anything, just here, there, party, see people, do nothing, do lots of stuff...
Lisa's Parents: I've touched on this, but it really involved a lot of ping pong and super mario brothers, MGD and breakfast meats. Penny had a fantastic x-mas morning, apparently, although I was up from 4:30-6:00 with Lucy, playing tetris, so I chose to sleep through it. SHe did, however, see the real santa claus (really!) And got a 12ft long tunnel. She got a bunch of stuff, mainly in the stuffed animal in carrying case \ doll \ art categories. We got her a couple fraggle books and the first fraggle LP, which by the way is really quite good as far as kid's music goes, although whoever wrote these songs listened to a hell of a lot of greatful dead. We managed to only give immaterial (donation-based) and used gifts this season-- yeah for non-materialism! I got some wood-chopping stuff, and ordered a bunch of Buddhist books from Dover...
K-zoo: Party town boy, but it was solid. The kids were good-- Lucy slept, Penny watched TV, we had a good old fashioned 75-100 person house show... Lots of bands, most of which I saw about three songs or so of... I have a VERY funny recording of the del snowfall assholes performance of the x-mas show, by the way, in case anyone wants to hear it... I'm not sure how I'll post it, but I'll figure something out. I was DRUNK, but it really works... Rosie & Matt are special, wonderful people, as are everyone else who came out. Had a baby-fest I the second night, lots of yummy rich foods (yes, erraticrabbit, you're right about why people in MI gain weight)...
My Parent's House: Who knew we were throwing a big 30-person party at my parent's house? Certainly we didn't know... That also was great though, subtitled baby fest II. Cuteness overwhelms... It's always pretty good to see people, and see how personalities have evolved, and see who you know you would hang out with if you were to meet them now (and who you may not hang out with-- and why those people are great to know, and how that reminds you of how wonderful all types of people are)...
New Years here was good too-- simple, but fun. We all spent the night at our friend Josh & Catherine's house-- their daughter Luna is 5. Her and Penny can PLAY dude, like I've never seen any kids play together. They managed to stay up until midnight and get along the entire time. It's amazing. Great dancing too...
I've noticed that once I start writing lately, I just keep going and going... I'll leave you all with a link to some pictures of my family from Charleston (Thanksgiving)... Whether or not you have ever met any of my family,
these should still be pretty entertaining:
Here's a healthy year with healthy choices. So far so good...
By the way, has anyone heard of Darren Bader? Performance artist-- wrote this book, or journal sort of, called "james earl scones"... It's CRAZY shit, love it...
