The soap mold I ordered last week finally got here! It's really nicely constructed and has a detachable side, so I can remove the loaf of soap without working myself into a frenzy. The last mold I had was just a cheap, smallish wooden box from Hobby Lobby, and it was starting to warp and fall apart. It took a lot of work to get the loaf of soap out, and it usually ended up fairly mangled.
So now I have a mold that actually works well, which means that I no longer have an excuse to not make soap. I plan to turn out at least three batches of soap a week. Each batch yields about eight bars, so I'll have a good supply of salable stuff soon. Salable stuff means income for me. Income means clothes, food, treats, and cigarettes. Clothes, food, treats, and cigarettes make Meruti a happy clam.
I'll be making some Bast soap tonight, as I promised Her I would. I'm still planning on Tonka Bean and Pomegranate, with a little Peony to finish off the scent. As for color, I'm thinking a nice rich bluish-green, with little flecks of gold mica. What do you think?
