Fuji notices his hearing is going after Akutsu hits him the second time. He thinks it is because Jin hit the side of his head, again; there was a ringing in his ears after the blow.
He resolves to watch his head more often, when his boyfriend is in a foul mood.

His hearing is gone in one ear after the third time Akutsu hits him. Fuji did not have the chance to watch his head, for the blow was not expected. He isn't sure why Akutsu hits him that time, but he doesn't question it: to ask would simply make everything worse.
