dear yuletide

Dear Yuletide Writer,

Hi! This is my first yuletide actually creating rather than just enjoying the wonderful fanworks every year.

I'm very excited to see any of my requests written. My fandoms are all pretty teeny, so to see fics at all is lovely. In general, I’m pretty open to anything, if it inspires you, it will entertain me. I tend to enjoy most tropes (Five Things, canon divergent AUs and intoxication are faves, but I can guarantee, I will love whatever's written for me, whether or not they're included); and the full spectrum from horror and non/dub-con to fluffy pwps and gen.
I prefer f/f and m/m over het, and I'd rather no unrequited love, a/b/o or scat, please.

My tumblr is here (I have a tag for Stephen King, and for Misfits), and this is my AO3 account.

* Eye of the Dragon

I love Stephen King slash, he has this fascinating mixture of repeating these themes of very male-heavy stories and passionate male friendships, but there’s this weird traditionalist ‘no homo’ streak that crops up again and again.

This book is probably his most classic fairy tale/fantasy, and it's actually not a favourite of mine because of that, maybe because I feel like there was so much potential for an interesting story that kind of trailed off.

Peter, the lead character, was so worthy he never justified much interest for me, but I really liked poor Thomas.

I'd love something exploring his relationships, whether set during canon or post-canon when he and Dennis travel after Flagg.

(I'm familiar with most King books, but in-depth Dark Tower references are lost on me, I prefer The Stand, just fyi.)

The end sort of comes out with Dennis saying how loyal he feels ('Something inside me says you're my master still') which is somewhat surprising, as in the text he's described as being nervous around Thomas.

For Thomas' part, we know he insists Dennis drinks with him, forbids him to go home, and insists Dennis spends the night in his apartments because he's lonely.

I'd be fascinated by something with this pairing, whether unwillingly on either side, or growing into more as they spend their life having 'strange adventures' on the road (bonus points for Thomas referring to past, manipulative dub-con Flagg/Thomas.)

* Misfits

I got into this fandom about a year ago, and created more stuff for it than my other fandoms. Nathan/Simon is probably the closest thing I have to a favourite pairing within it, and I'd love something with these two.

I love group interactions, playing around with powers as tropes (this fandoms kinda built for that)...you can go as dark as you like (within this pairing, you've got two characters who canonically give very little credence to other people's consent; one of whom constantly refers to have being abused as a kid, the other of whom happily uses a time-travelling power and hidden cameras to 'make' someone fall in love with him, and has a friend who can take other people's forms....), or as kinky (we know from the show Simon's into voyeurism and pissing, lol) or alternately, schmoopy (Superhoodie AU where he came back for Nathan? Simon losing his virginity to Nathan instead of Zawe Ashton?)

DNW: I enjoyed the show a lot, but something that I think prompted me to create fanworks for it was the fault-lines. I’m happy with a fanwork with any of the characters, in any pairing that pings for you, het, femslash, slash, threesomes, foursomes or moresomes, throw in S3-5 characters; but no Simon/Alisha please, that pairing the way it was done in the show didn’t work for me at all. (I don’t mind it being referred to as a past-tense thing if your work is set post-canon, but I'm not feeling it otherwise.)

* Wild Things

Porn_Battle always had a bunch of Wild Things prompts, and that and the awesome YT 2007 Kelly/Susie fic made me crave more. It's such a trashy, entertaining movie, there's not a character in it who doesn't interest me, and it helps that the entire cast is pretty much the epitome of 90s nostalgia.

Really, anything would be awesome - another plot twist? Kelly somehow survives? Anything exploring how Sam Lombardo, a two-bit hustler, managed to so successfully scam a community that he's considered a saint, while Kelly and Susie are initially caught for their drug use etc. pre-canon? Something with Sandra Van Ryan (who after all, brought us the most memorable line of the film: 'My daughter does NOT get raped in Blue Bay!'), and who turns out to be Suzie's sister? Something fleshing out the lost Duquette/Lombardo scene?
