McGonagall - described by both the narrative and many fans (adella711 and I both recently took polls reflecting this, so even 'subversive' readers such as slashers seem to agree) as the fairest teacher at Hogwarts.
Umbridge - loathed by text and audience alike.
But are they so different?

Well-lll-lll ... I give the Humbert Humbert name the thumbs up for sheer chutzpah and the laugh-out-loud factor, BUT, I'm 99% sure he's gay and the most Lolita elements are, to me, tied to Hermione, so I don't think *he's* the one fixating on her, if you know what I mean. And I dont think the boys are Humberted in terms of their treatment by an older guy, so ... *is conflicted*

Really? I never bothered to watch the Kloves interview on the CoS DVD (although it's annoying to see all the Cuaron fangirls saying 'OMG he predicted plot elements akording 2 JKR!11' when she said exactly the same thing about Columbus/Kloves) so my gaydar hasn't had a chance to 'read' him ;)
Heyman is 100% gay and actually kind of creepy with it, imho, though.
(And I always got the impression Cuaron was bi...?!)
