Faire opening weekend

Apr 10, 2006 09:19

Ace-high, as usual.

Got my toad and sin, hug from Shelby, wink from a Boggard (Snoball), hand kissed and all the wonderful things that come with faire every year.

Bunghole, or Wes. Whichever you prefer.

Brandon posing as William Shakespeare, with Shelby guiding.

Shannon and Shelby doing "Pyramus and Thisby," with audience participation. As usual, Shelby plays our lovely heroine.

Our dear Thisby, piercing her breast at the sight of her fallen Pyramus.

The end result.

Shelby about to deflower KellyDawn with a whip for the encore.

The funny thing about the "Pyramus and Thisby" show, there was a couple of instances where Shannon and Shelby would joke about it not being a Sound & Fury show. For those unaware, Sound & Fury, a brilliant Fakespearean troupe in which Shelby performs, were not invited to perform this year, despite their grand successes in years past and how they're a southern Pleasure Faire favorite.

L.A. Taiko drum group. New to faire this year.

Boggards. Several of them not in attendance. Also based on the angle from where I was sitting, some not pictured.

Since they finally got an NC-17 stage not sandwiched between the moon swing and children's maze, they were able to swear however much they wanted to. When they finished their set, no one got up and left. Instead there was chanting for them to sing some more. It was great.

And now ladies and gentlemen (or maybe just Crystle), a shameless montage of Tappy photos (for Crystle, of course):

Here's a Tappy.

There's a Tappy.

Tappy!

OK, OK. Here's a Brandon.

Lee lurking behind Brandon and me dressed as our pet Death.

weekend, s&f, festivals, boggards, faire, cultural events, brandon at random, random images
