Marie Harkins is a girl who I used to dance with when I danced with Doonan School of Irish Dance.
She's a year older than me, I think, and we only really see each other at dance competitions. Since I haven't competed lately, I see her less often. After our school's Feis last summer, which was the last time I saw her, she was not feeling well. She went to the doctor, and they removed a 15lb(!!!) malginant tumor from her stomach. She went through chemo, and competed this summer at our Feis!
We had no clue she had cancer. My mom happened to comment on how short she had cut her hair, and she kind of laughed and said, "weel, it wasn't my choice!" But she said she has been given a 99% chance of survival!!!
