Welcome to The Gloucester House!

Apr 24, 2005 12:13

Last night was my boss's 70th birthday celebration at The Gloucester House Restaurant in, you guessed it, Gloucester. (My boss's birthday isn't actually until April 26th.)This celebration included mad props given to my boss from the Lieutenant Governor of this great Commonwealth, Kerry Healey; Congressman John Tierney; a couple of State Reps and a State Senator. Wow, what an underachiever my boss is, huh? The Lt. Governor, a Congressman and few elected officials at your 70th birthday. I wish I had that...haha. The only people that were missing was George Clooney and Mark Whalberg. ;)

Anywho, among the guests that attended: me, but of course, my parents, my sister and her fiance, and my brother. Even though my boss was quite annoyed at the fact that the Senate President and the House Speaker skipped out on him, we all had a really great time. We all got there pretty early so we could get a good parking spot because there's not a whole lot of parking at The Gloucester House. After about a half hour, the Lt. Governor finally showed up. I introduced myself, along with the rest of my family, then not too long afterward, the Congressman and everyone else stolled in...

It was supposed to be a roast, you know, like they have on Saint Patrick's Day? But, it wasn't. It was an evening filled with compliments and gratitude... and not just about my boss. At the end, he thanked all of his aides, including me, and gave me special recognition for all of the work I do and have done for the past couple of years. With all the crap that went on, it was nice to get a compliment like that. :::smiles and blushes:::

Ok, off for a coffee...
