"Choose six songs that are important to you, and six people to do the same."
As Laura said, picking only six songs is difficult, however, I shall try. In no particular order, they are:
- Ordinary Day by Vanessa Carlton - "Just a day, just an ordinary day, just trying to get by. Just a boy, just an ordinary boy, but he was looking to the sky." It came out right around the time of my college graduation. It reminds me of the first couple of weeks of my legislative internship.
- Pretty Baby by Vanessa Carlton - "And I know things can't last forever. But there are lessons that you'll never learn. Oh just the scent of you it makes me hurt. So how's it you that makes me better?" This song reminds me of Doug. For a lot of reasons.
- Summer Sunshine by The Corrs - "Just sweet beginnings and bitter endings. In coffee city we borrowed heaven. Don't give it back, I've never felt so wanted. Are you taking me home? You tell me you have to go. In the heat of the summer sunshine, I miss you like nobody else. In the heat of the summer sunshine, I kiss you and nobody needs to know." This song reminds me of when Keith and I met last summer.
- All The Small Things by Blink 182 - "Say it ain't so, I will not go, turn the lights off, carry me home." Even though this song came out in 1999, I heard it a few years later while Doug and I were at the 21st Amendment one night after work. We had such a good time that night. It was the night that the infamous "Woo Woo" was introduced to me... haha.
- Love Song by 311 - "However far away, I will always love you. However long I stay, I will always love you. Whatever words I say, I will always love you. I will always love you." This reminds me of Donnie. A lot of you don't know about Donnie. He's a friend of mine, very sweet, and he's always had a crush on me.
- Everything by Alanis Morissette - "I can be a nightmare of the grandest kind. I can withhold like it's going out of style. I have the bravest heart that you've ever seen and you've never met anyone who's as positive as I am sometimes." This song just speaks for itself, I think.
