"The Marriage of Melinda Anne Burgess and Douglas George Cronin"

May 23, 2005 20:05

Well, I can't believe it. Melinda is now officially Mrs. Douglas Cronin!

The wedding was beautiful! Saturday went by SO fast. The ceremony was at 4:00pm and took place at the First Church of the Nazarene in Lowell. Melinda was beautiful, of course, and Doug was as handsome as ever. It was a little over an hour with pictures and such. The photographer wanted pictures of all of us at the church before we got to the reception. Betsy and I were dressed in purple, Melinda's favorite color, and Melinda had a cathedral-length veil that her cousin made herself. Simply beautiful. Betsy and I almost lost it when we saw Mr. Burgess walking Melinda down the aisle. Pre-ceremony, there was a small power point presentation of Melinda and Doug through the years... pictures of the elementary school years through high school years up until Melinda graduated from nursing school and Doug's graduation from the police academy. There was a great picture of Melinda and me right after we graduated from Nazareth, and of course, the obligatory picture of Melinda in her school uniform hehe. Needless to say, a few tears were shed there.

Anyway, the reception was held at the Indian Ridge Country Club in Andover. Gorgeous! (I'm really happy my sister's having her reception there as well.) We had SUCH a great time. The food was fabulous and it has a wonderful atmosphere. We left around 11:00-ish, because Melinda and Doug had a farewell breakfast just for the bridal party and immediate family the next morning.

So now, Mr. and Mrs. Cronin are in Hawaii as we speak. Mrs. Burgess called me frantic yesterday because she thought she couldn't find Melinda's bridal bouquet, but she found it. I told her it was funny because Melinda gave me my bouquet that I accidentally left at the Country Club the night before, yesterday morning, and for her not to have hers was simply ironic... but her Mom found it, thank God. Now both of our bouquets are drying out so they'll stay gorgeous and we'll be able to keep them! :)

There's so much more I could write about, but you know... haha.

I was so honored to be part of Melinda's wedding. Melinda is one of the best friends I've ever had and she deserves to be happy. I'm so thankful to have Melinda in my life. I love her like a sister and I know she'll always be there for me, as she has been all along.

I don't think I need go any further. I think you all get the point.

With that said, goodnight.
