Business Card Madness

Jul 12, 2010 23:55

I spent time this morning creating business cards with paint.net and uploaded them to Next Day Flyers. I haven't used paint.net extensively and was emailed and called saying my order was pending due to the image being low res and resulting in a very pixilated image. So after deciding I was going to download photoshop, and spending an hour trying to figure out which photoshop package was right for me, I went back to paint.net.

I finally saw in the resize tool which area controlled the image resolution. Duh. It was set at 240ppx, where the minimum for a business card on their site should be 300. So I resized the image and set it for a high resolution, used their online design tool (which I hadn't found this morning) and managed to complete my redesign of my RMOL business cards and resubmit.

Their call center was open late. 11pm pacific time. Wow. And I managed to have my design resubmitted for print tomorrow, and with a rush shipping, which I'm paying as much as the price of the cards (yay procrastination), I should have them by Thursday. Which will mean I can have them to pass out while I represent the tile at Thunder in The Mountains this weekend.

Phew. Now to finish watching some Cirque Du Soleil. I purchased the Corteo DVD from the grocery store and love the theme of the journey of life, death, and transformation. The symbolism of the labyrinth on the stage floor made me smile. Prior to this year, I wouldn't have known the significance of labyrinths.
