I have a lot of feelings, but only one thought: I'm just in it for the dog.

Anyone who wants to talk spoilery stuff, my comments are open to you, and I'll try to respond in a coherent manner.

Also: I know the dog's the only one who likes me. You have no idea how happy that makes me.

I didn't even know there was a big Carter/Reese contingent.

Oh yes, and if I do say so, they are sickening. Even though I'm a confirmed slasher, I am capable of seeing het attraction when it's actually there. Grey's Anatomy, General Hospital, other shows, but not between C and R. I just know they are (were) so gloating that their view of the pilot "came true" in The Crossing. Ugh. And they are MEAN fans too. A vocal number of them quite astonishingly will tell you that you are racist if you don't ship Carter with Reese and even though you say you wouldn't see it even if she was white and that if Finch was black you'd still ship Finch and Reese, that doesn't make a dent. And of course, there is noting "canonical" to show that either F or R are "gay" -- right. I think they never heard of subtext, seriously. And once they know you're a slasher, they will go out of their way to disagree with anything and everything else you say about the show, regardless if it's about the slashiness or not. I'm serious. And for a large majority of them, Carter is THE main character, the only reason to watch the show and the mythology, the Machine, even the numbers are boooring. Hand to god. I mean, sure, she's a role model for a lot of young African American viewers, but they seem to think that Finch doesn't even exist or realize that the show has, you know, a plot outside Carter's being a detective.
