Enjoy! -N        HARRY POTTER AND CHARACTERS DO NOT BELONG TO ME. 'cept Merope I made her.

NARRATOR
In a barn standing in the town of little Hangleton there is a girl feared by all the townsfolk. Many rumours secrets, stories and legends have been whispered and told about this girl. Some are false, however, some are true. It is believed that the barn in which the Gaunt family kept their possessions.

Nothing unusual happened in the 20th of August, known to the townsfolk that is, except that a tourist came past the house of Miss Gregory, an aging woman who liked gossip and clean drinking glasses. Miss Gregory pondered why the tourist could be here, there were hardly ever tourists in Little Hangleton.
The Sun was bright on that Sunday Morning in which that tourist, who was clearly a tourist because of his brown robes with a badge ‘M.O.M’ pinned on his chest, crossed to the front of the Gaunt’s house.
The ‘Proud House of Gaunt’, feared by all, had not been inhabited for almost a century. The paint on the black door was peeling, the brass door knocker; chipped, the garden was over grown and the front windows were barely visible as vines were crawling over the windows. The man who was wearing the brown robes was named Ronald Weasley, Co-Head of the Auror Office.
Hi robes were a tad shabby, his hair was windswept and his face freckly but, other than that Miss Gregory thought he was quite a handsome young man, for a handsome young lady of course.
This man was on a special job for his boss; although a little scared he gathered all his courage and stepped through the gate and into the front yards long grass. Mr Weasley could here snakes softly hissing through the trees and grass, but he chose to ignore them. When Mr Weasley reached the back of the house he saw the barn which his boss had told him about. The garden around the barn was well kept and small patches of lavender and white dandelions were sprouting next to hedges. The grass was short and Mr Weasley could see snakes sliding to the barn’s door. Slightly green Mr Weasley stepped into the barn.

Dust motes filled the air, sparkling like jewels falling from a hole in the roof. Sitting on the floor cross-legged was a girl about the age of ten or eleven. It seemed that the girl was sleeping or in some kind of faze, she had her eyes closed and did not mind a large green python slithering around her shoulders.
Her hair fell to her waist and her clothes, a green tee-shirt and a pair of once white cut-offs, where ragged and dirty. The girl opened her mouth and let out a noise Mr Weasley did not understand. Slightly frowning at the man the girl hissed: ‘what do you want?’ Mr Weasley stood frozen with fear the green python next to the girl hissed in what Mr Weasley hopefully imagined a nice way.
‘Sharai tells me you are human speaking, let me try this again - what do you want?’ The girl’s last four words Mr Weasley could understand.
Luckily snakes eat spider, Mr Weasley thought, he didn’t like spiders.
‘Um... well,’ Mr Weasley stuttered, 'I’m from the Ministry of Magic and I was sent for you to come with me.’ Mr Weasley finished his sentence with his shoulders back. ‘Who are you?’ The girl asked still with her eyes shut. Mr Weasley took a step towards her, and the long green python hissed carefully.
‘Please, ma’m can you see?’
‘How very rude of me Mr Weasley,’ spoke the girl. ‘My name is Merope and yes, I can see.’ Merope opened her eyes to reveal amber almost red eyes. ‘Are you here to help me? Are you some charity case? I don’t want your money.’ Mr Weasley looked at the girl, why had Harry asked for her? I mean, clearly she needed help but from Harry?
'Well, I am here to help you but no, I am not some charity case. My boss the Minister for Magic,' temporally Mr Weasley thought, 'has asked to see you.'
'Well, I don't know if I can go.' Merope stood and the green python swam around her shoulders in a mist like form until it was firm enough that with one movement it could strangle the girl.
Mr Weasley was itching to leave and tell his boss it was impossible, a mistake, he couldn't understand why this ... girl was so important.
'You see,' said Merope continuing, ' I look after Sharai and she, well, she looks after me. I need her.'
Merope spoke gesturing the green python.
'I assure you, you will return within the day, maybe less.' Mr Weasley spoke, now in his element. 'I trust that you are true to your word. Where are you taking me?' Merope asked curious, 'not the Asylum. Hold on- did you say magic?' Mr Weasley smiled. 'Yes Merope, you are a witch. Now hold onto my arm.'
Mr Ronald Weasley said and with a faint pop and a rush of air, he and Merope dissaparated.
