Jun 29, 2007 16:51

I love reading! But, I hate reading the books that my school forces us to read over the summer... >_< But, if you want to read some good books I've created a list of books I really like! ^^

Young Adult Books with a Supernatural Twist ^0^

Twilight by Stephenie Meyer is a great vampire about forbidden love! It's great I love Bella the main character and I love all the Cullens! Read if you are a fantasy fan and love vampires! ^^
Rating- 4.8/5

New Moon by Stephenie Meyer is the sequel to Twilight! So don't read it unless you've read Twilight! Even though it's a sequel it's almost as good as the first! I really love the last couples of chapters in this book. Their probably my favorite part (so far) in the whole Twilight Series! If you loved Twilight don't be afraid to read the sequel it's really good! ^_^
Rating- 4.4/5

Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer is the third book in the Twilight series about Bella and Edward! ^^ Coming out August 7, 2007!

Blue Bloods by Melissa de la Cruz is another book about vampires! But, this time the story is about a group of teenagers in Manhattan and the main girls are also vampires. (Unlike Twilight where the boy is a vampire and the girl is an regular girl). Even though the teens in this book are rich and attend a private high school the author is able to create loveable and realistic characters! I would recommend this book to vampire lovers and Melissa de la Cruz fans! ^^
Rating- 4.2/5

Masquerade by Melissa de la Cruz is the second book in the Blue Bloods series! As you can tell by the title their is a masked ball! (I love masks!) ^^ You learn more about the Blue Blood vampires and learn some more about some of the character's past! It's just as good as the first! This book leaves you wanting to read the third one! (which isn't coming out until sometime in 2008). >_<
Rating- 4.1/5

A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray is the beginning of her amazing trilogy! The book is about four girls named Gemma, Pippa, Ann and Felicity! (though it's mainly about Gemma) The story takes place in 18th century England and contains many mysteriouss that leave you wanting to continue reading even though it's three o'clock in the morning! As soon as I finnish the first book and went out and brought the second! I love Gemma, Pippa and Felicity! (though I didn't like Ann that much... I hope she changes or grows alittle it in the next two books) But, if you love magic and 18th century England read this trilogy!
Rating- 4.5/5

Rebel Angels by Libba Bray is the second book in the AGATB trilogy! It's longer and just has good as the first! You finally get to find out who Circe is! 0_0 Read it if you love the first book! ^^
Rating- 4.5/5

The Sweet Far Thing by Libba Bray is the third book in the AGATB trilogy! Coming out on December 26, 2007! ^^

Elsewhere by Gabrielle Zevin about a fifteen (almost sixteen) year old girl who dies in a car addicent and what happens to her after death. The author creates her own universe that is very creative and very fun to read about! The first chapter of the story is even told by the main character Liz's dog Lucy! If you like fantasy stories you should read this book!
Rating- 3.9/5

Blood and Chocolate by Annette Curtis Klause is a story about a werewolf girl named Vivian! ^^ Vivian falls in love with a human, but Vivian's werewolf pack only wants her to date her own kind! Now Vivian has to choose between humans or werewolves, but can she even trust her human love Aiden with her secret! 0_0 You'll have to read to find out! This is a good book for fantasy and werewolf lovers! ^^ (But, DO NOT watch the movie! It DOES NOT follow the book and the ending is completly different @_@ Just read the book it's better! ^^)
Rating- 4.2/5

Avalon High is a book by Meg Cabot that tells the story about Elaine who finds out that she and some of her fellow classmates are reincarnations of people from the Arthurian Legend! ^^ For anyone who is a teenager and loves fantasy or Arthurain Legend then you should read this book! There is even going to be three sequels in manga form! ^^ They will be released by Tokyopop! The first manga volume is coming out this July! ^_^ I can't wait to read it!
Rating- 4.1/5

Historial Young Adult Books (Yea I kinda made that title up cause I don't know what else to call these books ^^)

Ophelia by Lisa Klein is a retelling of Shakespeare's Hamlet told by Ophelia! ^^ I love Shakespeare and I love Ophelia so if your like me and love the character Ophelia and the story Hamlet then you should read this book! It has an interesting twist! ^^
Rating- 4.0/5

Young Adult, Beach Reads! ^^

The Au Pair by Melissa de la Cruz is the first exciting book out of four books about three different girl in the Hamptons! Eliza, Mara and Jacqui and are cool and fun characters to read about! A definite each read! ^^
Rating- 4.3/5

Regular Young Adult Books

The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen tells the story about Macy who is living with her mother and is trying to cope with her dad's death. She has the perfect boyfriend and the perfect grades. But when she starts a job at Wish Catering she learns that their is more to life then being perfect and begins to trust other people, especially Wes! ^^ This is one of Sarah Dessen's greastest books! (I've read all her stories that our out so far!) Any Sarach Dessen fan or anyone who likes good young adult fiction would love this book! ^^
Rating-4.5/5

This Lullaby by Sarah Dessen is the story about Remi who does not believe in love. Her mother is marrying for the fifth time and her musican father left them when they she was little. When a musican named Dexter enters Remi's life will she finally fall in love? My favorite book by Sarah Dessen! ^^
Rating- 4.6/5

Prep by Curtis Sittenfeld is a book about a high school girl named Lee who wins a scholarship to attend the prestigious Adult school! The book starts from Lee's freshmen year all the way to her graduation from highschool! It's a good book, but it's very long and the main girl started to annoy and bored me about halfway through the book >_< But, if you like reading books about an outsider going through all four years of highschool then you should read this book!
Rating- 3.5/5

I'll add more to the list later! ^^
