Back to normal positive things, I finally saw
Sunshine by Danny Boyle. I really loved it as a dream piece, and really appreciated the depictions of space (particularly the sun) in all its god-like glory. I wish I saw it on the big screen just for the look and feel alone. I also liked its message, that of only having one chance in life and to go all the way. At least that was what I took away from it. And I loved the cast.
Also, Kazu and I saw Wicked one more time as a night out with our family, followed by a fancy schmancy dinner at Yamashiro. It was great to hang out with my two mothers (ha!) and new grandparents in laws. Right from the time the first note was hit, I had tears running down my face, I forgot how damn good that show was. And when
Eden Espinosa sings -- wow! She has absolute,
impeccable control over her voice. She is a singer/athelete, since it takes no less than a sort of athleticism to sing the songs in that musical the way she does multiple times a week, sometimes twice a day. I really hope she gets more popular and makes more recordings of her voice, because it's a true gift.
Today was a nice break from writing, but I'm still on chapter 17 and my deadline's Feb. 17 (my own deadline). Rema awaits.
