Professor of the Practice in Media, Activism, and the Arts
The Committee on Degrees in Studies of Women, Gender, and Sexuality invites
applications for a Professor of the Practice who will teach one course per
academic year on a topic related to the applicant's area of specialization. The
position is non-tenured and involves a five-year term of appointment, which may
be renewed. We welcome candidates who have made a major impact on fields
important to WGS with particular preference for one or more of the following
categories: journalism, activism, and the arts. A Ph.D. or terminal degree is
not necessary; rather, candidates should demonstrate substantial bases of
experience, at least 10 years, and a national/international reputation for
excellence in their field.
By March 15, 2011, please submit a letter of application describing relevant
professional background, possible courses, a C.V., a list of any courses taught
in the past, a teaching statement and teaching evaluations if possible.
