Went out tonight, to the Sidewalk Cafe. To the Dream Bitches show. Now, I walked into this place and it wasn't at all what I expected. It didn't seem very well set up, for band shows. A jumble (I mean a jumble!) of tables and chairs strewn everywhere. Bodies trying to twist and squeeze hrough this mess. I don't know how the waitresses ever got used to this, or if they ever did. We smushed in right next to one of the Dream Bitches, Anne, who has a bit of mermaid instilled right in. She has the cutest hair, blond(gasp)with chunks of pink and chunks of what I guess are brunette. I noticed, Yoko (the second dream bitch sighting) kept glancing my way. I knew it was bugging her that she might know me. The Pantsuits? played first, as we ordered our first beer. Four fucking dollars for a bottle of Rolling Rock! Manhatten, I think your taking this a bit too far....
Ta-da crackerman078 shows up, with two friends in tow. So we relocate to another smushed spot. I'm introduced to Adam, whose name I learn quickly because of an ex. Seems quiet but not stupid. Thank god. And then to crackerman078 's roommate. He is an actor. Of course, I should have known that. The next band springs up and I'm diggiing them. I'll have to ask Pug their name. crackerman078 's roommate sits and complains the whole time ( I mean, seriously, the whole time the band played, with no stopping. Which he is aloud to, since he is in the buisness and knows PEOPLE who make better music) about how bad this band is. Yay! Maybe you had better get some air, instead of wasting it on complaining about someone who is doing what they love. Whatever. Then, the Dream Bitches come on and rocked my rocks! They were great. Anyone who thinks differently, fine. But I will be punching you in the gut now.
They finish up and it's time to go. We went and made our goodbyes to Yoko, and she totally remembered my name. No, no, not just my name...my full name. "Oh, your Nicole Schmidt, I thought I recognized you." Holy cow, I am star struck! Well, okay, I am really impressed. What a cutie!
Pug was sneaky and got me Dream Bitches pins!!!!! I love you pugnacousd !
I didn't have much energy, with the being sick and all. The roommate was easier to deal with on the ride home. I'm sure he has wonderful quailties but he didn't make a very good first impression. Adam, or Milk as I call him in my head, didn't leave much of one, but seemed pretty cool. Real anti-badness, though. Thank you crackerman078 for coming out, your bad-ass! Very glad we've met.
Now I'm just chillin' in my room, alone. Tired of the internet but I have to check my emails. Oh, thanks Kevin for the advice of posting before checking emails and friends posts, or otherwise I'd never post now.
Took my vitamans and am drinking juice (granted with vodka but it's a start). Working on not being so sick.
Oh, yeah! Go to www.dreambitches.org and check out their site. In Feb. there is another show and their new cd comes out. You might dig them, who knows? Oh, and if my sister and Shawn are in town then, I'll make (force) them to go! It will be alot of fun(on my part).
