Phew! It's been a hectic couple of weeks, mostly spent on creating some new illustrations and designs! But this grossly-belated post is not about work...

Despite a busy schedule, I was not able to resist the buzz... of the current musical wave that's taken on our shores...

So I took time off to catch <881> when "8th Bro" Weibin dropped by in town ( Read more... )

I think 881 is great too! A very commendable effort from the people involved and its an extremely well thought of film , from the music, costumes, style, cast to the overall packaging. I thought, even though it is not flawless, its one of the landmark local film production in recent times. =)

Yea. Nice song. Didn't know it was a song the director heard in M'sia though..

Ya lor, I thought it was an original composition at first! But I'm still glad they gave us this song. It is quite a classic now... :)

I like the Chen Weilian's song best (can cry), but 一人一半 is nice and kinda sticks around in the head for days... :)

My parents had both already passed on, but I did "ask" them to go watch the show with me... I'm very sure they would definitely enjoy it! :)

I think quite likely it would be available on flights. Not sure if it'll be screened in Hong Kong though, as most of its dialogue is in the Hokkien dialect. But I am aiming to get the DVD! :)

Yeah, I like it too. Very funny and yet touching. Good effort by our local production team. I like the songs as well.

Thank goodness we weren't asked to do the ass-signature thing (don't ask)! LOL

Is that the part where the two Papaya sisters singing at home with their aunty? They were singing, dancing and showing their asses (in a single row), wringgling them from right to left to right... LOL.

I also love the starting scenes... when the Aunty asked her friends over for their opinions about the girls' singing. LOL

Haha okay actually the ass-signing thing was a game played during the promo show at Mox. To get the poster and cd, two guys had to spell out "881" and "Qi Yuwu" using their butts! :P

I enjoyed the opening scene as well, the dancing was pretty orbit, but the way all the characters were arguing in Hokkien was really entertaining... :)
