Haha thanks for your compliments. :)
The focus of the ad was on the kids anyway, and I knew my shot was just for that split second! :)
Still it was a fun shoot and the kids were really cute! :)

Hmm.. just chanced upon your blog.
I know how much actors are paid.... some a lot, some really only enough to cover transport fees.

What made you want to take this route, when it is really not easy here...

Hallo Orangejava, welcome in. :)
Good question you have here...
To be honest, I didn't start out to be an actor...
I wanted to be a singer, to sing and touch people's hearts with my voice and my songs...
Then one thing leads to another, and I began singing in musical productions that required me to act...
And then I found that learning how to act actually improved my expression and interpretation of songs...
And now I am hooked, happily, uncontrollably and undeniably hooked...
As for money, I have done jobs that pay me well enough not to work for a few months, and I have done jobs that has yet to pay me after 2 years...
Who cares, it's just money...
Money feeds my body and ego, sure, but it sure doesn't feed my soul! ;)

Hm... So how far have you reached in terms of singing and touching people's heart?

So what's your next musical? Are you in Lao Jiu?

Hm... I agree that money doesn't feel the soul. It's always good to strike a balance. And I am glad I have a balanced life.

I am not in "Lao Jiu", but in Toy Factory's "Ten Brothers", which is more like a play based on an old folktale with some catchy songs and dynamic choreography. Our show runs right before "Lao Jiu" in November...
Do come watch if you can! :)
As for touching people's hearts or lives, I have received favourable compliments from my audience and people who have heard me sing, which is enough to keep me going...
I am pretty balanced in my life right now, and I don't feel lacking in any way. In a sense, I am taking my sweet time along the scenic route, but eventually when I feel ready, I will produce my own recording album with meaningful heartfelt songs... :)
