now that that's done...
Shrine decided to send home a letter about security on campus. so they locked the doors on us, people have to get visitor badges, and they install a window at the main office. fine with that. but now, after winter break, they decided that "we are ready for additional security measures." so now anytime between 3:30 and 5:30pm if a student is in the building without "the direct supervision of an adult" they will be forced to go to the library where mrs. smits will watch over them. before 3:30pm they are free to do whatever...well, almost. if students go to the library they have to sign in and their parents have to sign them out. the only exception is if a coach or teacher comes to get them for a meeting or practice. it costs $5 a day. AND for every 10 minutes after 5:30 that students stay is $10.
so who said someone was going to try to make the high school like the academy? by the way, the Academy has the same exact program, where students are forced to go to "study hall" where nothing gets done when their ride home is a few minutes late. and apparently "on nights when school activites are scheduled, paid security personnel will monitor the building. And, because we have experienced additional concern with students wandering through the building during sports events, we will be installing a security gate system."
and we thought the school looked like a prison already when the fiberglass windows were installed. not to mention i have noticed that this week there have been padlocks on the doors leading to the basement.
is this because of the whole sex in the boys' bathroom thing?
