pissed once again today.
so i'm trying to drop physics, and no one is giving me trouble except for msu.
first of all, i couldnt speak with the guy in charge, i had to email him.
second, he gave me an unclear response:

Arielle,

Thank you for your inquiry. As you know, Michigan State University admitted you based on your complete set of credentials, including your senior year course elections. Mid-year schedule changes that result in a less academically rigorous college-preparatory curriculum could put your admission to Michigan State University in jeopardy. Both for reasons of continued admissibility and for effective preparation for success in college courses, Michigan State University does not recommend nor approve schedule changes that weaken the senior year.

We hope to see you at "Inside MSU" later this semester,

Terence Brown, M.A.
Admissions Counselor
Michigan State University

ok, honestly, what kind of fucking answer is that. it did in no way answer my question. seriously, i need a straight-forward answer, not this dumb shit. if asking for a straight answer makes me look stupid, well then maybe i shouldnt go there for college. all i need is a "yes, we will still accept you and encourage you to join msu" or a "no, sorry" and give a fucking reason. yeah ok, so i know obviously that the email basically says dont drop the fucking class, but still. give me the fucking courtesy and actually say that.

my response:

Mr. Brown,

Sorry to bother you again, but I do feel as if you have not been completely clear. I understand that MSU strongly opposes schedule changes, as no college should. However, I believe that even without a Physics class that I would still have a strong academic schedule and that I have had a strong one throughout my high school career. I also feel that Physics might actually hurt my grade point average because it is not my strongest subject, and I am 100% sure that the schedule change will not affect my GPA in a negative fashion. My plans for college also (hopefully) do not include too many science classes, as it is not my strongest academic area. I feel I have had enough science classes in high school that if I need to take a couple classes in college for general education requirements that I will do fine in them and will work hard. If you are not aware of it, I aspire to major in Music Education and my second choice is an English major.

MSU is one of my top choices in colleges for the Fall 2006 term. My brother and my friends at MSU love the experience, an experience I do want to be a part of. If the schedule change would affect my admissions in any way, I really do need a straight answer. If it's more complicated than that I would really appreciate being able to talk with you rather than communication via email if possible.

Please don't see this as my way of slacking off in the second semester of my senior year because that really is a wrong perception.

Thank you,
Arielle Warshay
