When did I get old?

So, I've had this problem with my hands for a couple of years now. Two summers ago I got in an accident on the way home from work due to burning the candle at both ends (getting bye on 3 hours of sleep a night, taking care of a psycho, and working 80 hours a week) - I fell asleep behind the wheel and smacked a car next to me. No one was injured, and both vehicles just had cosmetic damage to them. Two days later I woke up and couldn't move 3 of the fingers on my right hand and couldn't hold a cup of coffee in my left - felt as though all the strength had been sapped out of it.

What followed was 3 or 4 months of hell - I was still trying to work megahours with soft casts on both my hands. I went to every doctor under the sun, had an MRI done, had some sort of electrical impulse test done, saw a neurosurgeon, my doctor, etc., etc. They couldn't tell me what was wrong or what to do to fix it, so I gave up. 3 weeks later I met Sea and she began treating my hands with a peppermint based oil rub, and I started wearing a copper bracelet on one hand, and a silver one on the other. Gradually, things got better, thou the pain and irritation has never gone completely away, I was able to return to some semblance of normalcy, I just had to be careful.

Today, I woke up feeling fine, but my hands have been killing me and only been getting worse as the day goes on. I've actually had pulsing cramps in my wrists and my arms, something that hasn't happened since before I met Sea. I'm beginning to think I may have some sort of arthritis, because the humidity in the air today is much more than it has been in several weeks (due to the snow we got), and it seems to be settling into my arms. Fuckers. Wish I could just cut em off and learn to type with my tongue or something.....

Arthiritis, false teeth - Fuck, when did I get so old?

Now, something a bit more humorous. 5 signs you've been in the north too long:

1) Snow actually makes things warmer than they have been in a week
2) A fire alarm goes off for 14 hours before somebody (me) calls the police and tells them to turn it off
3) A middle aged person actually honks and gives the finger to a senior citizen crossing the street with a walker
4) John Kerry and Howard Dean pass for honest politicians
5) You begin to think that mandatory overtime, shit pay, and horrible jobs are the norm

So, maybe not that funny, but I'm so friggin sick of this god-forsaken city it's not funny. I can't wait to get the hell out of here - I just don't want to be away from Sea :(
