Title: you have a one-track mind like me
Rating: PG-13
Warnings/Spoilers: Implied character death (although that's really not the focus here, I promise)
Disclaimer: These people? Aren't mine.
Author's Note: Originally written for the inaugural round of
camelotsolstice. Finally got around to doing some editing touch-up and moving it to my journal, so I figured I'd link to it here. Also, credit to Carl Sagan for the summary and link quotes.
Summary: For small creatures such as we, the vastness is bearable only through love. Or, four discoveries that shattered Merlin’s world and one that didn’t, not really, when he thought about it.
It is far better to grasp the Universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring.
