Icon Request
This is not particularly spoiler-y for 205/206, but it does make mention of it. Not enough that I would cut, but enough for you to choose whether to read. /disclaimer
In watching 205, my friends made a horrible, horrible joke that turned out to be rather excellent and that I would like to share. Based on the premise that Uther was high off the troll (happy, distorted reality, etc.), they started this joke by laughing at me and saying, "Liz, Merlin is your troll!" (Which then devolved into "Merlin/Arthur is your troll!" and "slash is your troll!" -- you see where this joke wound up.)
So, in the idea of the "iGeek" that the libraries are doing now, I kind of want to do a "___ is my troll" contest/set of icons/whatnot. Specifically Merlin/Arthur, since it's my own troll (ogod). I don't know what people would like as a prize for this, but I'm willing to write, gift paid icon space, or something for just a little impromptu contest.
What I'd come up with was this:
Everyone who submits an icon that has some quaint scene and says something like "Merlin/Arthur is my troll" or "What's your troll?" will receive a 100-500 word drabble of their choosing (Merlin/Arthur, obviously, why else would I be posting here). Then, I will collect all the icons and put them up for a vote on which one people like best, and then that icon-maker will win a prize? I was thinking paid icon space (or, if you don't have a paid account, a paid account for a year), unless you already have both of those, in which case please do recommend something better as a prize? Since this isn't just a community icontest (since I don't feel like making a community for it). After the voting, I would put up the winning icon(s), all the icons + makers, and then all of the ficlets.
Er, if you're interested, email me your icon and drabble request. If you have general comments, ideas, etc., please just reply to this post. I'll wait until I have 10 icons or it is the 15th of November (whichever comes later) to compile icons for a vote.
