An introduction and a prologue

Jul 05, 2009 04:09

Well, hi! I am a new person, just got into Merlin when it began airing on NBC (though I'd heard plenty good things about it before), and I've spent the last week or so talking my friends' ears off about it and reading fanfic on both this lovely comm and the kinkmeme. On the meme though I misread a prompt for an American Idol crossover, my mind ( Read more... )

Thank you! I'm going to work on it just as soon as I'm no longer being distracted by Wimbledon. XD I'm glad it seems promising, I hope it lives up to expectations.

Oh, I'm really looking forward to further chapters. *g* It sounds like it's going to be epic.

(Also, I can sympathise with the first-fic-being-epic-AU thing. Guh.)

Thanks! XD It is, yeah. It's feeling like it's going to be long. And/or cover a lot of in-story time.

(What were we thinking? It must be a sign of madness. MADNESS I TELL YOU! AHAHAHAHA! ...or something.)

All the better!

(I think it must be. This thing is eating my brain and there's this painful knowledge that half of what I know about the 'verse won't even make it to, er, print. MADNESS is correct D:)

Hopefully it'll live up to expectations.

(This is what side stores n'at are for though, yeah? If you wanted it to make it to print.)

The movie 'AI,' you mean? I haven't seen that one. The initial concept here is lifted from Iron Man, in the movie Tony Stark has an artifical intelligence named JARVIS (Just A Rather Very Intelligent Program, I may need an acronym for MERLIN eventually but I don't know what it would be XD), that he programmed to run his house. That's what I lifted for this, but it will diverge rather sharply from there, focusing on the program itself rather than it being minor secondary character. If the titular character in AI has anything in common with anything like Chobits and Data from Star Trek (which I have seen), there will probably be some more parallels. Eventually. XD

Yes, i meant the movie AI
it's beautiful, it's actually about mother-son relationship
In there a man creates an android with feelings and then he adopts the android as his son.
I saw it long ago, dont remember much :P
And ST i have just seen the new movie, dunno much about the old ones :(
Anyway, i hope you do continue this story, loved the prologue :)

I've only seen a few episodes of Next Gen, but the ones I have seen tend to be pretty Data centric. AI sounds kinds of like Chobits but with a child though that sounds more like the feelings are definite whereas Chobits is all about whether or not a computer can actually feel or just simulate it really really well and does it make a difference.

I'm definitely continuing this, I hope people continue to enjoy it!
