Hot Topic customers beware

Michael bought me a couple of things from Hot Topic for Christmas. The figurine was broken (cheap shit) + for the wallet I had no use (knowing that it would probably fall apart in less than 3 months anyway).  We brought the receipt + tried to return the items. Yes, tried.  We were told that since the price tags are missing from the products, we only can get store credit. Getting older + less tolerant to corporate bullshit Michael + I told the clerk that we find the return policy unacceptable. We made it quite clear to the clerk that we understand  that she is just following company policy.  She nevertheless gave us an attitude. She obviously was annoyed when she had to redo the transaction because she failed to inform us  before that we can get our money back for the broken figurine.  We are not interested in getting store credit + unwillingly had to accept it for the wallet.

So, Hot Topic policy now says that when you give a gift you need to keep the price tag on the item in case it will be returned? How tacky is that?

I'll be damned if I ever spend money at Hot Topic + support this BS. The $20 store credit will be the last time they will ever see out of us.
