Well, you've probably noticed I haven't written anything. This journal thing really isn't for me, but of course, I haven't been trying. Surprised I even remembered my username.
Anyway, I guess I'll update at what's been happening.
I've been out of a job for near 6 months now. I was looking for work but nothing came up. 6 Months, 2 interviews, still nothing. Same as my current room mate, who thankfully had money saved up incase some shit happened.
We hit our limit in money the end of last month, and had to ask for outside assistance (room mates mom). He was able to get the money, under one circumstance. He had to move back to Seattle, which made me realize...
I HAD NO WHERE TO GO!
So even more frantic looking for work. 3 weeks pass, and still nothing.
Now me, being the person who doesn't like to ask for help, finally decided to give up and go ask for some. I went to a place called Work Source. I was incredibly naive and thought this was a place for homeless and stinky people. To my surprise, alot of people there. Normal people! I don't feel comfortable around people so my stress level went way down. So I went up, got some forms, filled them out.
I walk by this wall with all kinds of job openings, that apparently you could only sign up for there. I was in heaven. There was 2 jobs that really stuck out at me, so I figured, "Hell, why not" so I filled out forms and turned them in.
I waited around for about 10 minutes, and someone called me in for an interview, and saw my previous work history. They saw that I used to work for a company in the local area called Client Logic until it closed down. While there, I took inbound called for Earthlink Internet, and I helped people resolve their internet related issues. I was good at it too. Much to my surprise, one of the places I applied for is a company that replaced ClientLogic, and they also took inbound calls for Maytag. They said, all I had was to take a typing test.
Min Requirements was 30 WPM, and I got 60 WPM with no errors. The guy laughed and said he would push my application onto the company.
I GOT A CALL!
Went in, had an interview, and the guy said I pretty much have the job. So now, I'm really excited! But then I realize, the end of this month is almost near, and I still have no where to go.
Fortunately, one of my local friends is giving me a place to stay for a week. But after that, I'm up the creek without a paddle. I'm just hoping laugh will be nice and find something for me.
So to my FFXI buddies, I'm taking a break, but I'll be back. It's just a matter of time and money.
I'll try to hit up the library occasionally to post and let you all know how it's going.
