angels - I suppose my love of angels comes from the whole art as myth/historical evidence interest. Started at uni with the twelth century renaissance course - Gothic Art and the Cult of the Virgin Mary - and took off from there. I don't know quite why angels appeal to me so much. Probably my love of metaphor. :D
baroque art - see above. If you love angels, then the baroque era really is one of the best for them. Big fluffy white wings, glorious colours. Wonderful. And the whole competely over the top thing of the era just appeals to me.
collecting espresso cups - my motto in life is quality not quantity, and that definitely applies to my coffee. No interest whatsoever in lattes and cappucinos... why on earth would I want to ruin decent coffee?? And linked with this has been a growth in my collection of cups. One for every mood and then some.
italy - came initially out of my history studies at uni, visited and loved it, and grew more interested in modern day issues there, outside of the twee, historical image it sometimes has. Fascinating culture and people, gorgeous food and art. What more could you ask for?
languages - I am constantly frustrated by my lack of linguistic skills, yet continue to yearn for a fluency I don't seem to develop. Hence I have lots of bits and pieces of four languages - probably could have a conversation in French or Italian just about, can read in German still a little, and have a smattering of Swedish. Does mean making educated guesses is easy for me. But then having people who can speak English around the world doesn't half help. :)
navy ncis - NCIS is for me one of the examples of what American TV is so much better at - comedy drama. Love the characters, love the storylines, styling, use of humour, and if it's occasionally predictable, they also occasionally turn things on its head. Loved it within a couple of episodes, and barring bringing Gerald back, I don't have too many complaints.
sheppard/heightmeyer - ah yes, the ship that came out of nowhere, and has taken a grip like no other for a long time. I did write about it a while ago why I thought they were a good match
here. There is probably a lot in the fact we never really saw them together that left the potential for more open so much. There is also the whole canon problems which means that's never going to be destroyed. Oh yes, and there is always they look pretty together argument. :D
