After a week of wondering what he and Aqua should do on their First Date, he decided that going the traditional route would be best: a nice dinner somewhere, some conversation, maybe a moonlit walk. Simplicity at its finest, mostly for Aqua's sake. She needs to experience a proper date before Dave starts coming up with nerdy things, like... well.

But she had to focus on getting her homework done before changing out of her uniform to meet with Dave. She decided to go with a casual outfit; a short sleeved button down shirt, blue tie, shorts with tights, boots and two cuffs on her wrists. Dave didn't tell her what exactly they would be doing, but she figured it would be something they normally did: talk, catch up. The difference now was they wouldn't be practicing and maybe...some kissing would be involved.
Once she was fully dressed she began to head down to the main entrance to meet him. She was running early, but seeing Dave there she thought the opposite.
"I'm not late, am I?"

He shifts his weight from foot to foot. Focus, Dave.
"You look nice."

"Great minds think alike then." there was a slight tease in her voice to see if that could calm Dave down...and maybe herself. The compliment he gave her was sweet and made her look to the ground.
"..Thanks..so do you.." she murmured, trying to remember that this was Dave, meaning there was no need to be nervous around him. So he gave her a compliment...about her looks...it wasn't a big deal! He...probably was trying to make small talk, that's all.
"So....where are we heading to today?"

"There's this place in Traverse Town I was thinking of. It's not super fancy or anything, but it's nice, and the food's good. How's that sound?"
Reply
"Sounds fine with me." Spending time with Dave was fun no matter what they were doing.
Reply
"Great." He offers Aqua an arm for the holding. "Let's go, then."
Reply
"Lead the way."

It's only until the host approaches to seat them that Dave releases Aqua's arm.

Their host is a young man with a shaggy hair cut and freckles on his face.
"Table for two?" he asks.
Reply
She may not know what the writers in girly magazines talk about, but Dave does. (DON'T ASK WHY.)
Once they're seated, the host wishes them a pleasant evening and hands them a pair of menus, then ducks away to help another waiting couple.

Was it her...or was this entire thing a bit awkward? It was nice of him to take her out to a restaurant, but she would've been fine if he took her out to a park.
"Is this really how a date is supposed to go?" she asks, only because well...she's never been on one before.

CUE SLIGHT PANIC.
"Is something wrong?"
Reply
"Just asking...but nothing's wrong. I mean...I'm not sure how these are supposed to go, you know?" In the back of her mind she briefly recalls how a date is supposed to go. A guy and a girl hang out and do something they like. Or the guy tries to woo the girl with flowers or something...at least that's what she recalls from watching a movie or two.

Dave bites his lip for a moment, then offers a half-shrug and sheepish look in reply. "Will you believe me if I tell you this is usually one way a normal date goes?"
Reply
"Of course I believe you," Aqua begins, moving to take another sip of her water.
"What's another normal date scenario?" since he seemed to be more of an expert on the topic than her.
Reply
He coughs, then sips some water as well. "I thought this would be good, though. For talking and stuff."
