Employment Update
So thanks to my friend Crystal, I have a job at Target. Which just proves that it's not what you know, it's who you know. Which doesn't seem right to me. I mean, didn't the patronage system supposedly disappear around the turn of the 19th century? But I don't care. I'm employed and will be starting work next week. It's not a big salary, but it's more than I'm getting now, yeah?
I got confirmation that being a graduate student makes you unemployable in the real world. "Because if you're smart," I was told, "they think you're going to get bored and move on." Which is the biggest pile of BS I've ever heard of. Would I be applying if I didn't want the job??? I mean, really!!!
