This has been a very eventful Christmas break!
I headed to Halifax on Tuesday as soon as Jason was off work and the drive went moderately. He bought a puzzle book to bring along and slept a bit and I managed to make it to Dad's without getting lost. Among the things we did together is shop... shop... get turned away from the casino (due to his lack of ID), visited the Freaklunchbox, went to see Happy Feet in IMAX (which was sweet) and we watched a lot of movies at Dad's in the evening. It was great. He met my Dad, Stepmom, sister, grandparents and one of my aunts and cousin. Oh! We also went to a Christmas store and we went to the arcade a lot. After shopping on Wednesday I realized that I had left my wallet at the arcade in the Mic Mac Mall :| Talk about panic session. I was lucky because someone had turned it in but we're pretty sure the sketchy girl at the counter who I was going to give money for hanging onto it took ten dollars out of my wallet. Hence, I had no money to give her but I can't complain; everything else was there.
Christmas Eve I worked all day (9-4) so Jason and I woke up at 8ish and opened our presents to each other. Jason got me some sweet clothes, dance mats, Pirates of the Caribeean 2 and really cute slippers. It was awesome. After work we headed to my Mom's for a late dinner and that went well. He now has his nintendo ds lite (pink!) so we played some of that and hung around talking with Mom and playing wiht my brothers and stuff. I took him home and went back to sleep on Mom's couch because the boys are up so early and I didn't want to miss it. Jason went to Steve's and brought the leftovers there because he wasn't going to get to see anyone for Christmas (I guess he was happy with the food!)
Christmas morning (after very little sleep thanks to cats and brothers waking up a lot) began at six am which wasn't too bad. We opened up stockings, ate pancakes and got dressed and then opened up the rest. This took until eight. Mom got me a new daughter's pride ring since mine broke almost two years ago and its gorgeous. I also got sweet headphones, this weird ladybug pillow (from my eight year old brother), a care bear poster (from my five year old brother), some clothes and a pile of other stuff from Mom (I told her she went way overboard). I got a duvet cover from Dad and gift certificates for Sobeys and movie money and a PILE of energy drinks (I have like 20 or 30 of them). MY aunts etc got me giftcards from Subway, Empire theatres, Old Navy, and Walmart (I think thats it) and I got some clothes from them too.
ANYWAYS after trying to put the boys toys together, I went and got Jason and we drove up west and he met almost all of my mom's side of the family. We hung around at my Nana's and had a big dinner again. We left there and headed up to my nanny's (who is now 89) and I talked with her and she told me to go get him out of the car. This is the first year she's bothered to put her little tree out in her living room since my Grampy died which has been almost ten years. She was having a pretty sad day it seemed and I don't think anyone was really over to visit her so I'm really glad we were up. She tried to give me money >.<
Anyways, amongst all of these days, Jason kept trying to get a hold of his family. The 23rd, he couldn't get a hold of anyone but we drove through Summerside anyways and he caught his aunt at work so we saw her for a few minutes. Christmas day the same thing happened except we didn't track anyone down. We went out to his Mom's last night though and that was a lot of fun. I like his Mom. We hung out there and she laughed and gave him his presents from last year since he wasn't home. We listened to some stompin' tom and she fed us and I admired the guns on the wall (its been too long!) and I don't know... I had a really good time. He looks surprisingly like his Mom but I'm not really sure what it is exactly that makes me think that.
Christmas has been a success. :)
This morning Jason had to work at five am, as soon as Tim's opened. The alarms were set, I didn't hear them at all but he did and turned them off to get up and accidentally fell back to sleep. I didn't get the phone call from Tim's since my phone was charging in the other room and then Jackie showed up at our place. It was weird. I hope he's not in too much trouble :(
the end.
