What happens when Merlin begins receiving gay pornography and suggestive messages on his work email account? What if these messages are addressed from his young, good-looking boss Arthur Pendragon? And, why is it that said boss doesn't even seem acknowledge Merlin's existence in the office or outside it?

I wish I knew how to quit you
They've had an affair during their early 20s and have fallen out after a couple of years. They find each other 10 years later, both married with children and they fall in love all over. They spend a day a week seeing each other secretively and then it becomes once a month because of duties and such... until one of them doesn't come to their meetings anymore.
Is this really the end for them?

They seem to decide mutually that, as long as they pretend to be asleep and they never EVER talk about it, they can do whatever they want to each other while sharing a bed. I'm thinking lots of slow, torturous boundary testing as each tries to see what the other (obviously feigning sleep) will let him get away with. And, of course, both making very odd and obvious excuses to share a bed as often as possible. Bonus points for underage post-puberty. [Extra-special bonus points if this was a technique that Arthur and Morgana employed while they were younger, but that is up to author!anon]

Arthur/Merlin, Modern AU.
Arthur's father, a very important business man whom Arthur believes has been dealing with some dark issues, gets killed as Arthur is just arriving from the grocery store. He has no idea of what to do, since the men who killed his father are still around, so tries to remain calm and pretend he lives in the apartment at the end of the hall. His neighboor, Merlin, maybe the only person who has been kind to him and always had a witty reply, finally decides to open the door and his life to the young man standing there.
Arthur will be suddenly shocked (and amazed, later) to discover the gentle, big-eared boy is a first-class hitman, and will try to persuade him into train him to avenge his father's death. Merlin agrees, reluctantly. In that time, Arthur will not only learn to kill, but he will end up teaching Merlin what love is.
Summing it up? "The professional", but without the huge age difference and a happy ending, please?
