Mandara here with a proposition for anyone who is interested.

I would like the cast of Merlin to come to Australia. However, they have to be invited by the channel Ten network. I just rang in to channel Ten and their publicist was busy, so now I have to send her an e-mail.

What would you intend for them to do here? I'm assuming a convention, in which case there's two options: Supanova (Sydney, Melbourne, Perth or Brisbane) or Armageddon (which is somewhat less reliable, as far as I can tell).

With that in mind, the con organisers would actually take care of a lot of this for you, 'specially if you pitched it to them strongly (i.e. emphasised the ratings, popularity and ability of the actors to bring people to the con). I'd contact them straight up - they're used to taking suggestions for guests, and make an honest attempt at following them - and let them handle negotiations. The fact there's a long-standing corporate name behind them (esp Supanova) will give them more sway with Ten.

I had something like a panel in mind and Supanova seems a good idea. I figured if network Ten were to bring them over, it would be good for the promotion of season 2, if they choose to air it that is.

The things is, I dont want them to only be here for the con. We'll see, even to pitch to Supanova I'll have to get some things ready, shouldn't take too long ;D
