The moon was high and he was pretty sure he had fine tuned the spell to bring him back to right before he left. Hopefully she would be home when he appeared. Merlin took a deep breath and worked his magic

Ariadne had been in her bedroom doing some more reading for class when she heard the loud thud come from the other room, followed by Merlin's voice. Her breath caught in her throat when she realized he must have come to take the advice she had given him on the community. She hadn't expected him to come so quickly, but she was glad to get things cleared up.
Putting her books aside and taking a deep breath, Ariadne got up and went into the other room.
"Hello, Merlin." She smiled at him, despite how awkward she felt.
He could his palms begin to sweat. "The last time I kissed someone, it was Freya." It all came out in a rush and he turned pink. "And...I don't know what kisses mean here. But...in Camelot, at least, it means that you...really like someone. And...I...really like you. Um...and I had meant that kiss...like I really like you."
He shifted uneasily from one foot to another. He really hadn't had much luck in romances. What happened with Freya...well. He didn't want to think about that. But Ariadne was normal. She was far away from Camelot. Which meant she could be far away from all the dangers of Camelot.
She couldn't help but smile as Merlin so quickly explained the kiss. Things had certainly gotten cleared up faster than she had expected. She didn't really know who Freya was. In fact, there was a lot she did know about Merlin and his life in Camelot, but she liked him too. And she certainly didn't mind him kissing her one bit.
"Kisses usually mean you really like someone here, too." She shook her head a bit as she stepped closer to him. "But, unfortunately there are a few gray areas." When she was close enough she looked him in the eyes and smiled. "That being said-"
She closed the small gap between them and kissed him gently on the lips. "I like you, too."
She was still smiling as she broke the kiss and nodded. "Yes. I didn't mean to push you away last time. I just wasn't sure what you meant, and I wasn't really sure how to respond without a little thought."
"I guess that was partly my fault too. I should've made my intentions clear." This made him smile though. He gave a small laugh then look at her in the eyes, biting his lip. "Could I...kiss you again?"
His fingers moved up to gently caress her face. There was no danger now. No sudden fear of being caught, of being forbidden. He leaned forward and gently brushed his lips against her closed eyelids, kissing her cheeks, then pressed his lips against hers gently.
Ariadne sighed into the kiss. She hadn't really been sure what kind of kisses to expect from someone from Merlin's time, but she supposed a kiss was a kiss no matter where or when you came from. Kindly telling her mind to shut up she leaned into the kiss. Blindly, her hand hand reached for his. She clumsily entwined her fingers with his as she continued the kiss.
The entwined fingers were all he needed to be encouraged to continue the kiss. He kept it soft, sweetly ,gentle, leaving plenty of room should she change her mind.
After a fair amount of kissing, Ariadne gently pulled away. Not that she wasn't happy to continue, but she could do with some air. She still held his hand though.
She was quiet for a minute, but then a thought occurred to her. "Oh. I should probably mention that when Arthur and Eames find out about this...well, I apologize in advance."
"You have?" Ariadne looked a little surprised. She hadn't heard about that before from Merlin or Arthur. "Well, I'm apologizing before we're pretty close, and they're both bound to stick their noses into our business."
Not that she didn't deserve it. She was poking around in their all the time.
"I can't...come visit all the time. I mean, I'd like to. But...you know that I need to stay and protect Arthur. Um...Prince Arthur." As much as he'd like to just stay in Paris with Ariadne, he still had his responsibilities.
She smiled softly and nodded. "I know. And I still have graduation and my job here." Ariadne knew this was bound to be the first of many complications for their relationship, but she felt right then that she was ready for it.
Merlin thought on it. "Maybe...I could...make something where you could talk to me if you wanted. or we could see each other without being in the same world..."
Putting her books aside and taking a deep breath, Ariadne got up and went into the other room.
"Hello, Merlin." She smiled at him, despite how awkward she felt.

Oh...
He was too shocked to move for an instant before he kissed her back, still gentle and sweet. "Really?"
