like little popsicle sticks

Arthur tilted his head back, feeling his hair catch on the rough surface of the castle stones and abstractly wondering how he’d ended up here. Most of his attention was taken up by the fact that Merlin’s lips were doing amazing things to his neck, an area he had not previously thought of as anywhere near this sensitive. However now it seemed that every nerve in the skin along his throat was burning and as he swallowed he was forced to bite back a moan, the movement of his own flesh against Merlin’s lips feeling obscenely good.

Snow crunched as he shifted his weight then he yelped as unexpectedly icy fingers slid up under his shirt. He squirmed away.

“Strewth, Merlin you’re freezing.” Merlin raised an eyebrow at him as if he thought Arthur was being truly dense.

“Well it is snowing your highness.” Arthur frowned.

“So it is.” He admitted, looking around. Merlin did so too and Arthur found his gaze drawn back to the servant rather than their surroundings. His eyes slid out of focus momentarily, remembering the feeling on Merlin’s lips on his neck. He focussed again to find bright blue eyes fixed knowingly on him. A slow smile spread across Merlin’s face, a far cry from his usual goofy grin.

“You know there’s a large fire burning in your rooms Arthur.” He pointed out, the prince frowned, disappointed that they seemed to be moving away from more kissing. There was a flash of what might have been impatience on Merlin’s face then he smiled again, this time looking a little more like his old self.

“It’s an excellent place to warm up.” He persisted. Arthur’s frown deepened. “An excellent place for lots of other things too.” Merlin went on, sounding truly exasperated now. “Things that probably shouldn’t be done in the view of the guard?” He glanced up at the wall above them as Arthur finally caught on.

“Oh.” He said, feeling his own sly grin form. “Lead on then.”
