Well, it finally happened. That 14 billion dollar piece of shit in downtown Boston that we all paid for has finally killed somebody. I’m honestly surprised that it took this long. Fifteen years of cost overruns, mismanagement, shitty concrete, and hundreds of leaks later, and only one person is dead. I suppose we should consider ourselves lucky, ( Read more... )

Ah, but it still matters to you because you pay taxes to Uncle Sam and the Big Dig was funded largely with federal dollars. Every taxpaying American has the right to demand accountability for this debacle.

Well, it still matters to me because freaking slabs of concrete shouldn't fall on cars, no matter who paid for it. (Unless it was hit men who paid to build it, but I think they're generally more specific about who they kill.) In any case, I'm glad I wasn't actually paying taxes when it started being built.

I'm with ya! It is all about the buck. They saved a ton of money, did crappy work and someone died for it... and I would bet this is the first of many. What a shame.

My wife is petrified of going in big tunnels like this, she called me to tell me this yesterday as a justification of her fears.

It is ridiculous that all this money was wasted and the product is defective. Did we keep the receipt? Perhaps we can get a refund.
