two-sides-of-the-same-cheekbones: Detailed costume description

The Daily Mail: [excerpt of article on currently running and upcoming Shakespeare plays]:

"The Globe theatre, by the Thames in London, a replica of the original first built in 1599, is all about that relationship between actor and audience. Concept stagings tend to be anathema at a venue where there are no lighting or gizmos to play with.

Tempest director Jeremy Herrin says the restrictions and challenges of performing at the Globe serve to bring Shakespeare back to its essence. ‘The space here resists a high-concept modernisation, so at least you don’t have the pressure to set it somewhere different just because someone set his production in the Arctic. The audience is more democratic, too. Many of them have paid only £5, which puts everyone in a good mood, and they’re on their feet so they engage in a different way. They’re determined to have a good time - it’s much more energised than everybody sitting in the dark in a Victorian theatre.’

For the opening scene of his Tempest, the audience will play a role as the sea while Stephen Warbeck, an Oscar winner for his music for Shakespeare In Love, has invented instruments that create underwater sounds."
