♦ The Film Pilgrim (Kevin Knapman): "The real revelation though is Colin Morgan as Cathal. It’s an energetic and likeable performance that is worlds away from his role in TV’s Merlin. He does occasionally over-do the junkie twitches but it’s a strong performance that deserves recognition. As good as the two actors are individually however, it’s together that they really shine, building up a great chemistry together that makes the final section of the film even more affecting."

Pale with a mouth full of teeth like brown tombstones, he’s almost unrecognisable from the clean-cut teen wizard of BBC1’s Merlin, delivering an intense, committed, spontaneous performance, inhabiting Cathal’s sallow, greasy skin, soulful eyes constantly scoping the angles."
