Era: Vaguely canon future era...though obviously not finale compliant. Arthur knows about Merlin's magic, so they are allies on equal footing. Prompt: Basically I want Arthur in love with Merlin, Merlin not feeling the same but feeling terrible because of it, and them just trying to continue on through it because while the love might take a different flavor for each of them, they both feel it as deeply as love has ever been felt. They are destined for each other, after all. I would like Arthur to remain as devoted to Gwen as his queen as he always has been, and for Merlin to seek a relationship with a woman in a misguided attempt to help Arthur move on. Equal parts angst and fluff would be nice, with a happy ending. Arthur's POV (3rd person please).

Prompt: Around her 30th birthday, Gwen finds out that if she ever wants to have children, it's best to do it soon, because of a medical condition would make pregnancy near impossible later on.This is kind of a problem because she's still single, and hasn't met the right person to have a family with yet. She decides she'll just become a parent by herself, and starts to look for a possible sperm donor. But her best friend Merlin steps in, saying that he'll help, since his mother always wanted grandchildren and this is probably the only way she'll get them, because he hasn't found the right guy either They agree to be together (in a
non-romantic relationship) until the child gets older, and then they would separate, but still remain in the child's life.
The only thing is, the day after Gwen gets the procedure for artificial insemination done, she meets Lance, and Merlin meets Arthur. And that just throws a bit of a kink in the plans.
