Oh, so hard to choose! I think the show always has amazing guest stars and gives them great parts to play and then casts awesomely talented actors. But I really love Balinor. His relationship with Merlin (brief as it was) was so well done and acted and breaks my heart every time. I also loved the insight into the past he provided, his relationship with Merlin's mum and Gaius.
I know! I really wish we'd gotten more time to explore that storyline, because I'd like to know more about everyone's past, but I guess that wouldn't have worked with the show.
I was really hoping he was being introduced to set up series 3 and to be a new guidance-figure for Merlin, which I think would have been really interesting in terms of the backstory of Camelot and potentially learning about Gaius and how often he went against Uther. And seeing his relationship with Merlin develop would have been awesome -when Merlin talks about taking him back to reunite with his mother it just kills me, because you can see in that moment how much he longs for that even though he's never known it.
Yeah, that would have been interesting to see, especially because I sometimes disagree with Gaius' decisions and I'm sure Balinor would have, too. It would have been an interesting look at Gaius' character. I know, I felt so sorry for Merlin at that part! I really wish we'd seen more of Balinor and Merlin…so much there that was never said.
Favorite guest star? Oh, goodness... I really, really have a soft spot for Vivian. I know she was silly (as was that episode) and did nothing to further the plot, but there's something about her that just makes me smile every time I watch. Georgie Moffett was just SPECTACULAR in her portrayal. All of this also applies to Lady Catrina.
In terms of SERIOUS guest stars, I'd go with Aredian. He was just wonderfully creepy and I thought he had great motivation for his actions, something which many of the guest characters lack. Granted, the motivation was silly when you think of the other big issues in Camelot, but his actions led to a REALLY dark episode and shed some light on Gaius's background.

Vivian was amazingly good! I just wish she'd gotten a better role, because by that time, the whole "Arthur is enchanted to fall in love" plot was a bit overdone. Regardless, I think it would have been a fun role to play. If nothing else, that episode had major crack potential. And yeah, Lady Catrina was good, too.
Ah, I know! I really want to know more of Gaius' background now.

Yeah, the plot was overdone, but I think because the episode went about it so cleverly (with the Shakespearean dialogue) it made her role worth it.
I would KILL for more of Gaius's background! I feel like there's some SERIOUS story line in there somewhere if the writers just went there...maybe in one of the upcoming series? *fingers crossed*

Yeah, the dialogue was great. I'm not saying her role wasn't worth it, because it was fun as hell, but it wasn't the most original plotline, is all. XD
It's killing me to not know more about Gaius, because there's so much potential in his character. I for sure hope they do go into it in S3.
SIR WILLIAM OF DAIRA!! Aw, he was just precious, wasn't he? So adorable. I was so hoping he'd become a regular knight, but sadly I suppose he couldn't being a farmer (at least not yet!)...
And Will...oh, Will! It was lovely seeing one of Merlin's friends pre-Camelot.
I don't think Lancelot or Morgause counts because they were in more than one episode. Morgause definitely would've been on my list otherwise!!
Haha, Will of Daira was indeed precious! His was such a small role, and unexplored, but that was the beauty of his character - he was there for funzies and just to put a smile on our faces. I found it amusing just comparing him to Arthur, hahaha.
I'm pretty sure the actor who played him, Alex Price, is now the narrator of Doctor Who Confidential, for anyone who's interested

Eh, I'm not too fond of Lancelot. His martyr complex needs to seriously get in check, and I'm still kind of pissed at how he just abandoned Gwen in 2x04... (and I'm pretty certain I always had a bias against him because I sort of detested Lancelot in the legends as well XD). I suppose I'll see how I feel about him after his S3 ep.
As for Morgause, I think Emilia Fox plays her really well. I'm looking forward to seeing the Morgana / Morgause dynamic in the future, and the fleshing out of her character.Definitely couldn't agree more!! I find Morgause absolutely fascinating and I hope that the writers don't just throw her to the wayside and make her a cardboard cut-out. And, of course, the relationship between Morgana and Morgause has SO much story line potential

Hands down, Lady Vivian. I have never laughed so hard at an episode in my life. And you can actually like, love, hate and cry along with or at the character herself all in the same episode.
I laugh at that episode mainly for Arthur (Oh Bradley, your facial expressions slay me!), especially when he like, jumps onto his bed in the background of that scene with Uther. XDD But he and Vivian were both as ridiculous as each other, it was such a good match! XD
I really loved Lady Vivian. Even if she was just a lulzy "Oh Arthur's Enchanted" guest. Her dresses were very pretty! And I love pretty dresses. And her hair, ohmygosh, such lovely blonde locks. And she had epic expressions. Also, Lady Catrina was just plain awesome, as far as lulzy guests go. It was nice seeing someone other than Arthur put under a spell.
As far as serious guests go, Balinor was great, I really wish he'd been around for more than just one episode. He was heart-breaking. I didn't like the idea of Merlin's father ~suddenly showing up at first, but when he did I really loved it.

Because, it's them.
If not, then it might have to be the two Will's: Sir William of Daria (I lol'd so much with) and Will, who is just awesome.
