1x07: "The Gates of Avalon"
In a land of myth, and a time of magic, there's a kingdom where magic is punishable by death and yet NOBODY. EVER. SUSPECTS. THE MAGIC USERS. I mean, the episode itself is mostly fine and I enjoy watching it, but Uther's willingness to go from gracious host to executioner because his son is taken with the young lady always makes me blink, and then there's the whole NOBODY SUSPECTS MAGIC. *ahem* Sorry for shouting, but c'mon. It wouldn't even be so bad if, at the end, Arthur was aware that he'd been enchanted, but that they just go on acting like everything was normal.... just, no.

2x07: "The Witchfinder"This one seemed out of left field to me. First of all, with Uther's determination to eliminate magic, I have a hard time believing that this is the first time we'd see him consulting a witchfinder (it'd make more sense to me if he kept one on hand at all times). Also, and maybe this is a result of rewatching frequently and out of order, but I just wish they'd make up their minds over whether the ( ... )

The bracelet thing was something i was really angry about! As you said, Merlin always knew when there was a magical object somewhere nere, but not now? He was always like "Camelot spy" on everything which seems not real, but not this time, even when his close friend Gwen was suspecting to being so cruel to betrayal her love? waaaaaah! noone ever found the bracelet, Merlin never visited Gwen in the dungeon, Elyan didn't even said good bye to her sister???
I'm going mad!

Yes!! I mean, if they wanted to play with it at first... it STILL makes no sense that Merlin doesn't sense it or even remotely suspect it (ESPECIALLY since he realizes what's going on with Lancelot), but FFS have somebody find it! Figure it out!!! ARRRRRRGH, that is the part I hate most about the whole thing.

I always thought... "Oh 5mins left, Merlin will find that bracelet, show it Arthur, asking him where it's coming from, saying Gaius found some kind of rune in it and have an evidence to say it's magical without revealing his own magical skills (even i think they should finally reveal his magic in S5 *praying*)!"

But nothing happened!

I actually thought for sure part of the whole Elyan-trying-to-kill-Arthur plot would involve him finding the bracelet when he was thrown in the dungeon. If there isn't some reference made in S5 to somebody having found it and that being cleared up and Gwen and Lance being absolved, I -will- scream. :P (For the record, I expect to scream. :-S)

In my mind that bracelet is still there in the corner of the dungeon cell...It had better make an appearance in S5 in some way or I'm gonna scream with you. (lol - just had a vision of one of the dungeon guards finding the bracelet, putting it on, liking the feel of it, hiding it away in his drawer for some later cross-dressing moment...)

LOL!! Or even some bandit with dreams of silk skirts and lacy shawls, hahaha!

My main concern is the time jump. It seems doubtful to me that it'll suddenly surface after time passing, if it didn't surface so soon afterward. :-/

Stupid time jumps. But then again, who actually cleans those dungeon cells, right? Cheeky's gonna stick with that bracelet is still in the corner of cell number 5... lol

Oh, idk-- after having been thrown into that dungeon, himself, on occasion, I don't wonder if King Arthur sees to it that the straw's replaced on a regular basis, at least. Juuuuust in case... XD

But yeah, it's not as though they're well-lit or anything, and I highly doubt they'd get a decent cleaning no matter what, so yup-- entirely possible it'd be missed even after a tidying. :P

But nothing happened!

Except for Merlin ditching his bestie Gwen and not even helping her pull her cart!!!!

Oh hai, love the icon. I wonder if that bracelet is similar to the one that Gwen had by chance...

OMG I THINK I JUST FIGURED IT OUT-- Merlin was enchanted.

Acting out of character, not sensing a magical object... It's the only thing that makes sense!!!

*headdesk*

!!! Maybe it was leftover enchantment from when Morgana had cast that spell to make him enthusiastically want to kill Arthur!! Yeah, that's it. Otherwise, we might have to believe that Merlin is losing his touch and that's an idea I don't like to entertain, especially since I lurve Merlin so much ;D

Yes, that HAS to be it-- a little bit of Fomorra (Formorra?? can never remember) that they missed. Merlin's too awesome (and lurvable) for there to be any other explanation, really.

Thank you! I once made that icon for a challenge...

No Gwens bracelet was much smaller.

I mean Arthur could have given her an donkey at least ( or pulling it by himself braying with his donkey ears, cause he was stupid like a donkey - even i think donkeys are clever animals)^^
