Oh, season one was pretty perfect to me, to be honest. I don't think I would have changed anything. Perhaps the only thing was that I wouldn't have killed Will because he was such a lovely character ♥
From S2 definitely the A/G romance... it was SO wrongly initiated that it really ruined the show for me. They could have played around it SO much better.
S3... my lovely Morgana turned into a smirk joke. This character has SO much potential that it hurts that now people aren't seeing her motives and her transformation in a villian. We needed to see her growing into her powers, experimenting with Morgause, cry over Uther's betrayal. We've only see the anger, I wanted to see the pain as well. That would have let people understand why she's like this now.

"It really makes me wonder why they bothered to introduce her as a sympathetic character initially if they weren't going to bother showing how she went from there to total evil."

completely agree with you. People don't understand now why she went from white to black in a heartbeat. I think that the producers assumed we would all take the transition as it was and not bother with trying to understand the motives of the "villain" but i think it backfired on them. I suspect they underestimated the love that fans have for Morgana, which i sometimes believe is stronger than the one they hold for any other character, and so its understandable that we all want to understand why she is who she is right now and the motives that drew her to it.

.these are just a few things I would've loved seeing onscreen, instead of having to guess how the characters reacted

This really bothered me at first, but I've actually come to sort of accept it, only because I feel like I've got a pretty good grasp of the characters and how they'd feel about it. I'm still iffy on it as far as storytelling and development goes, but it could be worse! :P

Oh, I totally agree!! It's only that I've watched a lot of shows where I don't think I'd have a clue how things might have been going in a character's head in any of those situations, whereas at least they've done (imo) a good enough job of building these characters that it isn't completely jarring.

Except, of course, with Morgana. Even there, we can make some pretty well-educated guesses; but all the same, I do agree that we shouldn't HAVE to guess at it. ;)

Well said. That definitely would have made the transition less abrupt. I don't really require depth in this show (although it's lovely when it happens), but that would have been a great place for it.

Yes, pls, on all counts.
I won't go on about Gwen's character, but I agree the romance was just wrong (and not because of my slashy nature, I am totally able to deal with believable canonical het pairings, but because it was awkward and forced and not at all natural).
And Morgana, yeah, I think we all wanna know wths happened with that (of course, I also wanna know why this series she turned into what's-her-name from the Harry Potter movies- Helena Bonham-Carter's character, I think, *hides* I don't know my HP, sorry).
