Long-lost magic reveal, hurt comfort fic
Hi everyone! I'm searching for a fic I read a while ago, possible on fanfiction.net four years ago, and I've been yearning to re-read it ever since! any help is appreciated :)
It's a short fic, I think. I'm pretty sure it starts with Merlin, Arthur, and possibly some other knights getting back to camelot. Merlin is mentally overwhelmed by something (i think it was the desir trial and the fact that mordred didn't die, but it could've just as well been merlin's father dying. I *think* its set in a later season, though). Because of this, he flees to an less-used corridor in the castle. Arthur, seeing Merlin is upset, follows after him.
Eventually Merlin has a mental breakdown in the abandoned/empty corridors, and get's comforted by Arthur. It ends with a reveal of some bad things that have happened to Merlin over the courses of canon (I'm pretty sure) and an eventual magic reveal.
I loved this fic for its well-written mental breakdown and the magic reveal. I'd be very grateful for any ideas you might have. Thanks!
