Fic search, help!!!!
Hi, hope you're all staying safe(and sane)
I have a scene from a work that is driving me crazy as I've been unable to identify the fic its from.....I know you're all awesome here in locating fics so please help put a girl out of her misery!
All I recall is Merlin being attacked by Arthur(beaten and he puts a sword to his throat or heart? with a view to kill him) I believe it happens in a herb garden? or a rose garden? I recall Arthur is really cold to Merlin, who initially is happily babbling away to Arthur until he starts hitting him, blindsiding him. I think Arthur just found out about Merlins magic and is furious?
Gwen or it could be Leon, comes running out and stops Arthur possibly and he doesn't kill Merlin but he does eventually banish him(with possibly sunset to leave but that may be from a different fic)
All in all It does work out ok(even ending in Merthur?) I think eventually but its a long way to get there.
I'm pretty sure its part of a larger work and I can recall an impression that lots of tragedies repeatedly befalls Merlin...when he gets back on his feet something else happens.
Please help, I've searched all my saved fics, tags, google but to no avail(which makes me think I've either mixed fics together or just made up the scene entirely-oh dear!!!) I know what I recall is incredibly vague but all I remember is the shock of Arthur attacking Merlin outside, when Merlin was so happy.
