Merlin specific story
I’m looking for a specific story in which merlin is injured (don’t remember how) and is slowly dying. On the steps of camelot Arthur asks him to hold while he’s carrying him.
At the moment before death merlin grips arthur’s cape tightly.
Merlin experience an out-of-body experience and can communicate with others by using their bodies. He does this with Gwen and Arthur. But because he’s linked magically with Arthur, it’s easier then with Gwen.
Gaius remarks that merlin’s body shows no sign of actually dying (except not breathing and no pulse) and is in fact healing.
When merlin tires, he goes to the spirit world where he finds lancelot with a wife and children, who have magic.
When merlin wants to return to the land of the living, he bleeds from his original wounds.
Eventually merlin does come back.
