Any hurt Arthur fics

For some reason, I am craving some hurt!Arthur. I've spent the last 3 hours in search of fics, and I haven't found any. I'm looking for any and all fics where Arthur is hurt, abused, sad, tortured, anything like that. Thank you :)

I'd argue that In Spite of Everything, the Stars by Polomonkey falls in that category. In the Prologue, Arthur, as a child, is gravely injured, and he's emotionally abused by his father basically all his life. In the second chapter he's manipulated and nearly killed again, and he bears the scars (physical and emotional) of all of this trauma for a long, long time. On top of that, Merlin also gets tortured in this fic, so.

In my bookmarks I also found Remember When We Never Faded by giselleslash tagged with hurt!Arthur, so give this a go!

Gadarene by unpossible, also as podfic by birdie7272 has Arthur with a mental illness that has given Agravaine a reason to seize power over Camelot. There's a lot of hurt!Merlin in there, too (sexual and physical abuse) but there's a focus on Arthur's mental illness and the way he's become almost powerless in Camelot.

I'm also sure I read one where he was kicked out onto the street by Uther for coming out as a teenager, but I can't remember it anymore, unfortunately.

Gadarene is one of my absolute favorites, and In Spite of Everything is pretty phenomenal/ I don't know the giselleslash story above, but in general I love her stories. I'll look for some others. I know I've read several.

Now that I was reminded, there's also Arcane Asylum by new_kate, podfic by sophinisba.

Arthur's framed for a magical crime and sent to prison with all the other magicals - who promptly take revenge on him. Warnings for sexual assault (in Arthur's past, and at the beginning of the fic), rape threats, and violence in general.

(It suits your request perfectly, however it's incomplete and the author seemed to give up on updating a long time ago.)

My personal fave is Bring the Sun Back: Inexplicable things keep happening around Arthur. In the end, he can only accept that he's cursed with magic. Magic needs to be stamped out, and Arthur shows himself no mercy. It brings the angst like nothing else, my god.

Other recs include: A Disarming Act of Loyalty has Arthur losing an arm in battle; Deep as the Wine Dark Sea deals with Merlin healing Arthur and the consequences thereof; in An Unnecessary Freezing of Water Arthur nearly drowns; The Map of Honour has Arthur wounded in battle; The Gravest of Miracles has emotionally-tortured!Arthur; and finally, Stumble Into Faith is another emotional hurt/comfort fic. Can you tell I have an entire folder devoted to these? Hehehe.

Also seconding Gadarene and 8x12x8. Oh, and the other fic by unpossible is worth a read as well (Ashes, Embers, Flames).
