Kid Merlin, Sorcerer and Servant [FOUND]
Hi all! Long time lurker, first time poster...
I'm hunting for a fic that I think is a one or two shot on lj, which might be why I'm having such a hard time finding it...
The main thread of the story is that Merlin is a servant in Uther's household. He's quite young, and isn't the greatest at helping Gaius with serving, etc., but Uther has given him a special task for the upcoming dinner he has with business partners: to wow the guests with his magic. If he does well, Uther promises Merlin that he will have Gaius take him into town to get whatever he likes. Merlin really wants a dog/puppy, and so he is very nervous about his performance.
Arthur in the story is quite sweet and is a friend to Merlin, but doesn't really play a very large role as far as I can remember.
Does this ring a bell at all?
