Christmas
Yes dammit. I'm already thinking of Christmas because we had to buy our flight tickets today.
Traveling with babies....
2 adults
2 babies
2 car seats
1 stroller
1 travel bassinet
3 suitcases for the adults
1 suitcase each kid
1 suitcase with presents
1 large diaper bag
I'm exhausted just thinking about it. Of course once we're in Iowa, we'll be running down to Kansas City to attend the Chiefs vs. Bears game on the 28th. We'll leave the babies in Iowa, and have a nice 2 day drunken retreat.
I will have to resign myself to leaving my children in the keeping of their grandparents. That’s hard on me. I don't like leaving my children with anyone. I would much rather people indulge and party at my house, then me go to a bar and leave my kids.
Oh my God. Especially because of what I saw on the news last night... This hoity toity yuppy family has a 5 month old. They wanted to hire a nanny. So they went above and beyond what most parents would do. They went through a nanny service. Who background checked this lady. They interviewed her like 3 times. They called all her references and previous employers. They hired a service to run their own background check on her and everything came up clean.
All of a sudden one day the little girl started crying whenever she was handed to the nanny, so they parents hooked up a couple of nanny cams. They caught the nanny shaking the baby so hard that her head was almost hitting the middle of her back. Then the second camera saw the nanny slamming this darling little baby on the ground 6-7 times in rapid succession.
No one. I'll repeat in the interests of being dramatic. No one is ever going to watch my kids for any long length of time, except me.
