It is bedtime for me again, but after all these days without posting, even though a lot of nice things happens (e.g. Juri performing in Evita, or in a fantastic Christmas concert or both of my kids in a school musical, or a wonderful dinner with our friend C, or finishing the ginger bread house we traditionally make for Christmas, or just snuggling on the sofa with my husband...), where I never found the time to post three good things, today I quickly want to celebrate the good things of this day
- taking the bus to work, enjoying the extra time reading a Marion Zimmer Bradley novel I got for Julklap (a tradition of exchanging little presents, mostly old stuff you want to get rid of) at the Hamburg's Trek Dinner and enjoying the walk from the bus station to our institute
- lovely evening with my friend M. on our local new Christmas market. I admit I skipped out of a school performance of J., but he told me that I did not have to come for he really did not like the pieces they had to perform and would not go there if he didn't have to, so I had the absolute luxury of an evening on the Christmasmarket with a good friend and without any placed to be afterwards (except home :-)). We enjoyed Feuerzangenbowle and Glögg, rode an old-fashioned caroussell and I bought the cutest little Christmas decoration - a miniature 50s TV set with a diarama inside of kids skating and a little train driving beneath
- a chat with my best friend U. on the phone, later tonight. We hardly see each other anymore, as we both have a lot to do (she taking college classes again in addition to work), and it is good to hear her voice once in a while and have a chat about our lives. I often wish she would be living closer so we could just meet for a cup of coffee after work or so once in a while
And now off to bed....
